CORRECT: Statistics: Russia’s April–June GDP rises by 4.9% on year

MOSCOW, Aug 11 (PRIME) -- The growth of Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 4.9% on the year in April–June after a 1.8% contraction in January–March, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Friday quoting preliminary data.
The preliminary estimate was calculated using operating statistics of the large and medium-sized companies of the non-financial sector of the economy. The service will publish its first estimate of GDP dynamics in April–June on September 8 based on adjusted data from respondent companies and additional statistics from the ministries, authorities, and the Central Bank.
